Biography
My name is Katie Louise Arakelian and I am a printmaking artist and art educator, and recently a graduate of the National College of Art and Design, in Dublin.
Born in the United Kingdom in 1996, I moved to Ireland with my family in 2008, at the age of 11 years.

As an Art Teacher, I plan to share and expand on my knowledge of both Art and Art History, two subjects I am deeply passionate about. I am always looking for interesting and innovative ways to make my lessons fun and worthwhile but also student and learning focused.
I have undertaken many creative projects in my teaching practice so far including; Lino Printing, Comic Book creating, Poster Design and Portraiture.

Based in a village called Ballymoe in rural county Galway, I am surrounded by nature and all of its natural architecture. I like to incorporate this into my own work as well as combining it with cityscapes of the various places I have been.

Mapping and Journey-taking are two elements that have been incorporated into my studio practice over the years. I am naturally drawn to the notion of Psychogeography - a factor that influences heavily into my artwork.
